A New Jersey attorney who is certified by the Supreme Court as a matrimonial law attorney must be a member in good standing of the NJ bar for over five years, maintain ongoing legal education requirements, demonstrate a substantial level of experience in matrimonial law, be favorably reviewed by other attorneys and judges familiar with his/her work, and take and pass a rigorous examination in matrimonial law. Only 3% of all attorneys in the state achieve this designation.
Since 2011, Julie has dedicated her practice, time and boundless energy exclusively to matrimonial and family law. She has effectively represented clients in all aspect of matrimonial and family law matters before the Superior Court of New Jersey trial courts as well as the Appellate Division. Her particular areas of emphasis are complex cases including domestic violence, Department of Child Protection & Permanency (DCPP) child abuse/neglect cases and appellate work. She has been appointed by the Courts to act as Guardian to investigate the appropriateness of guardianship applications of incapacitated individuals as well as to act as Guardian Ad Litem to children in contested custody cases.
Julie has been actively involved in Gloucester County since 1997 when she went to work for Legal Services, adopting it has her “home county” (having grown up in the Niagara Falls/Buffalo area) and has been a Gloucester County resident for the last twenty years. Julie believes strongly in community and giving back. Julie is a member of the Gloucester County Bar Association, where she has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2008 and was President in 2013/2014. She has donated her time and efforts to the Gloucester County Bar Foundation for years to events such as the Children’s Holiday Breakfast, an annual event in which she has participated since 2008, created the Foundation motto and spearheaded the Bar Outing Basket Auctions.
Julie was admitted to the New Jersey and Pennsylvania State bars as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1999, the same year she clerked. In June 2014, Julie had the honor of being sworn in as a member the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.
Julie received her Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law- Camden in 1999 and graduated from the State University of New York – College at Fredonia summa cum laude in 1996.
