HADDONFIELD, NJ – On Thursday, August 1, 2019, Adinolfi, Molotsky, Burick & Falkenstein Partner, Thomas Roberto, Esq., will present as a co-panelist for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education seminar on Family Law for Attorneys and Paralegals, covering a wide-range of topics from Case Information Statements to Motion Practice . Tom’s presentation will be focused on the importance of Child Support Guidelines in New Jersey, and will elaborate on what the child support guidelines cover and why they are important in family law cases involving children. For over 50 years, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, a division of the NJ State Bar Association, has served the needs of the New Jersey bench and bar providing members with resources to stay current with their knowledge and skills in the ever-changing and evolving world of the law practice.
Tom will cover the following topics in Thursday’s seminar specifically:
- Why the child support guidelines are important in New Jersey Family Law cases
- Identifying the expenses covered by guidelines-based child support and those expenses which are outside of the guidelines calculation
- Distinguishing between the sources of income included and excluded from the guidelines calculation
- A step-by-step guide on how to calculate child support via the guidelines
Tom is admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor of arts from The College of New Jersey and his juris doctor from Widener University School of Law with honors. He previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Terrence R. Cook, J.S.C., Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Family Part. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers – Rising Star by Thomsen Reuters from 2017 -2019, and has received numerous other accolades for his work in the field of family law.
In addition to being a member of the Burlington County, Camden County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, he is an active member of the Family Law Section Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association and a former Young Lawyer Co-Chair of FLEC. He also serves as an associate editor of the New Jersey Family Lawyer, a publication of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section. He has authored numerous articles and lectured on various family law topics throughout the State of New Jersey.
